Beach Weddings (or your Beach
Wedding at Blue Lagoon)
Quintana Roo (pronounced as 'kin-tana-row') is the youngest state in Mexico, and shares the Yucatan Peninsula with Yucatan and Campeche states, with Belize, the only English speaking Latin- American country, and Northern Guatemala. It is here in Quintana Roo that you find the 534 miles long (860 km) Caribbean coastline, usually referred to as the Mexican Caribbean, a beach wedding destination that still has its hidden treasures and locations. In this endless stretch of sea, the luminous shades of blue, from sapphire, cobalt, beryl to azure and turquoise create a visual feast, ideal for any special event, perfect for your beach wedding. For most of the visitors, the mild weather, the soft white sands and crystaline waters of the Riviera Maya or Cancun can easily be defined by one word THE PARADISE. And let's be true to ourselves: what we wouldn't give to have a beach wedding in a set like the Blue Lagoon? The breathtaking tones and the sensuality of the Mexican Caribbean beaches together with the lavishly multicolour sky at sunset truly provide magical setting for your dream-come-true beach wedding.
Another natural wonder of this region is the so-called cenote or sinkhole. The Peninsula is largely a low, flat tableland of porous limestone. Light rainfall is filtered through the rocks so there are no rivers or lakes above the ground. Instead it is a maze of underground rivers, lakes and caves with amazing stalactite and stalagmite formations and with strikingly crystaline, blue waters. There are various types of cenotes, semi or completely underground ones, some you can find at land level like ponds or there are the ones that look like a huge open well. They create a beautiful backdrop for exclusive and original wedding pictures complementing the wedding photos taken at your own beach wedding. Make sure you go with a professional photographer armed with the right equipment to make the most out of it as light in cenotes can be very tricky.
The seaside is stretched along and the cenotes are surrounded and spilled over with mangrove swamps, tiny islands, watery cays, savannas and tropical forests. Tropical forests, also called low jungle, as vegetation tends to be lush and full horizontally and trees do not grow so high. Some of these tropical forests are protected, like Sian Ka'an (Where the Sky Begins), which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site occupying 2,383 sq miles (6,172 sq km) of land and more than 62 miles (100 km) of coral reef. Mexico is famous for growing and cultivating flowers in greenhouses all year round but wild vegetation and local flowers can be magic too at special events like beach weddings - reducing your carbon footprint (an important point of view for the protection of our Planet!). Jamaica, hibiscus flowers and other tropical flowers of the region are very popular as they grow everywhere and can make nice, inexpensive wedding flowers making wedding tables unique with a local touch at beach weddings without any douts!
